Support for Your Biggest Role Yet
Being someone's mama is big, beautiful and at times brutal. We have no experience, no training, no manual... Nothing about how to raise this particular child at this particular age and stage. We’re making it up as we go—starting with very little sleep, while our body is still healing. There’s no time off, no proper handover, and no clear finish line. We thought we’d just know what to do, but instead, we’re overthinking every decision and worrying about every little thing. It’s overwhelming, disorienting, and deeply personal… and no one really prepared us for this.
You're not alone in this.
You were never meant to do this alone.
When we think we’re the only ones struggling, it creates distance—from our baby, from our partner, and from ourselves. It adds stress, shame, and spirals of doubt. But when you know what to expect, you can meet any potential struggles with compassion instead of confusion.
And that can make all the difference to your experience of new motherhood.
Your experience can be more beautiful than brutal.

My story
I found new motherhood so much harder than I expected. After three long years of trying and then a high-risk pregnancy with our surprise little miracle, I was already pretty emotionally drained...
but I had no idea about the crazy ride I was about to go on.
Physically, I was a mess after a less-than-ideal birth. Emotionally, I was anxious, overwhelmed, and raw. I cried tears of heart-expanding joy watching my baby’s little facial expressions—and cried again from the weight of it all. And yet the newborn phase wasn't the hardest part for me. I soaked in the cuddles and chaos through this haze.
As months went by the broken sleep compounded. The mental load grew heavier. I constantly questioned myself – "Am I doing this right?". I felt a shell of myself. I felt so alone; disconnected from myself, distanced from my partner and friends. I was shocked by the heaviness, the responsibility, the identity loss. I wanted so badly to be a good mama… and I felt like I was failing.
What made it worse was thinking I shouldn’t be struggling. I had such a supportive husband and a beautiful healthy baby. Other mamas seemed to be coping. Why wasn’t I?
Now I wasn't just struggling, I was spiraling.
Turns out, what I was going through had a name: matrescence—the profound physical, emotional, mental and social shift we go through when we become a mother.
And when I finally discovered that word, it hit me like a wave:
This wasn’t just me.
Learning about matrescence changed everything for me.
It gave me language. Understanding.
And most importantly—it gave me compassion.
Compassion—for myself and for other mamas navigating this wild, beautiful, brutal transformation.
But I couldn’t help wondering:
Why didn’t I know about this sooner?
Why don’t we talk about this more?
I started digging deep into emotional regulation, nervous system support, self-care, and how all of that impacts our bond with our baby. I leaned into my training in counseling and child development.
I felt firsthand how deeply connected my emotional well-being was to my baby—and my partner. The more I supported myself, the more grounded I felt, and the more confidently I could show up as a mother. As I worked on communication and connection with my partner, I felt our bond deepen. We became a stronger team, more aligned in how we wanted to raise our child.
That strength gave me the support I needed to trust myself, and to build our family in a way that felt true to us.
And I started pouring everything I’d learned and lived into simple, soothing, honest tools for new mothers.
That’s how these kits were born.
Not just from theory—but from lived experience, deep research, and a whole lot of heart.
To give you the boost I so desperately needed in that first 12 months.
Because you shouldn’t have to figure it all out on your own.
You deserve to feel supported, informed, and empowered—as you find your way.

FAQs
Who is this kit for?
This kit is for pregnant mothers-to-be and new mothers in their first year of parenthood who want emotional support, realistic guidance, and tools to navigate the transition to motherhood with more confidence and compassion.
When should I start the kit?
The sooner the better, be it during pregnancy, or at 6 days, 6 weeks or 6 months postpartum. These kits provide support for you throughout the first 12 months as you transition to motherhood.
What’s included?
These kits are accessed as an online course on the Calm Cadets website. You’ll get bite-sized written lessons, journaling prompts, practical tools and mini audio supports. These are not parenting manuals—they're mama-centered support kits for your emotional wellbeing.
How much time does it take?
These kits are designed with new mamas in mind. You can move through it in short, manageable pieces—just 10–15 minutes at a time. There’s no pressure to finish anything "on time." These kits offer daily small but powerful self-care opportunities.
Why is access limited to 18 months?
By offering time-bound access, I hope to gently motivate you to engage with it while the support matters most—not to add pressure, but to help you prioritize you. We've set the period of access at 18 months so you can start preparing early and jump in at 3 months pregnant and still have access your whole first year postpartum.
Is this a live course?
Nope—these kits are self-paced online courses, so you can access them on your own schedule over the next 18 months. No Zoom calls or strict timelines—just thoughtful, real-world support.
Is this a parenting course?
Not exactly. These kits are about you, the mother—not just your baby. They're designed to nurture your emotional health and identity as you grow into this new role. Because when you feel supported, everything else gets easier.
Can my partner access the kits too?
Definitely. While the kits are written for you, the information in the Relationship and New Family Unit sections are all about them too. The content can also be very helpful for you to share with your partner to help them understand what you’re going through and how to support you emotionally.
Who is this kit for?
This kit is for you if:
-
You’re in your first year postpartum, and you want emotional support that meets you where you are.
-
You’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure, lonely, or emotionally stretched—and want tools to steady yourself.
-
You want to feel more prepared for the continual shifts and stages that come with parenting and motherhood
-
You love the idea of bite-sized reflections, journaling prompts, and grounding tools you can do in a few quiet minutes.
-
You’re craving realistic, gentle guidance (not perfection or pressure).
-
You want to understand how to care for your emotional wellbeing, not just your baby’s.
You do not need to have it all together. You do not need to be a certain kind of mother. You just need a willingness to show up for yourself with honesty and compassion.
This kit is NOT for you if:
-
You’re looking for a step-by-step baby care or sleep training course (these kits are about supporting you, not teaching parenting methods).
-
You’re wanting medical or clinical mental health care. While the content is trauma-aware and emotionally validating, it’s not a substitute for professional therapy or medical advice.
-
You’re in a season where you can’t engage at all—and that’s okay. You might want to wait until you have at least a few short windows to reflect or listen.
-
You want video content or live coaching. This version of the kits are intentionally screen-light and self-paced, designed to feel like a warm, written companion—not another Zoom session on your calendar.
If you’ve read this far… you already care deeply.
You want to show up for your baby, your partner, your family—and yourself—with as much presence, love, and steadiness as you can. That tells me so much about the kind of parent you are becoming.
But you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
You deserve support, too.
The New Mama Booster Kits were created with so much care—to help you feel seen, steadied, and supported through this tender transformation.
This isn’t about doing things “right.”
It’s about feeling more connected, more informed, and more compassionate with yourself as you grow into this new role.
And if there’s a part of you whispering, “This could help…”
I hope you’ll honor that voice. She’s wise.
You don’t have to be ready for everything.
You just have to be ready for this step.
We’ll walk the rest together.
